Kisaragi (Concept Art)

Game Description

In 2004, a woman by the name, “Hasumi”, posted on a Japanese forum called 2channel while being inside a train car. She posted that the train only made a stop of riding the train from Shin-Hamamatsu Station at “Kisaragi Station”. However, the station seemed to be vacant and unstaffed. Hasumi exited the train and wandered around the station while discussing on the forum with other users on what to do next. After multiple unusual activities, in her last post, she decided to make a run for it as her battery was going to run out. Till this day, Hasumi has never been found, and Kisaragi Station remains non-existent in the map of Japan.

As part of a supernatural investigation organization, you play as an ambitious woman, “Risa Matsuda”, as you revisit this urban legend to truly debunk this once and for all. Is it truly all just a fictional story, or is there more truth than lies in Hasumi’s posts?

Art Style

In order to bring out a sinister and creepy horror atmosphere, I envision the surroundings to be set in a midnight timing where everything is dark and the only things lighting up the surroundings are the flicking and dirty lights around.

Reference Images

Many of my art style references were inspired by the Japanese movie recounting the same urban legend, “Kisaragi Station”.

I also referenced the cover arts of existing Asian horror games.

I also referenced the actual Japanese train station signs to design my game’s logo.

Narrative

Featured in the middle is the player’s character, Risa Matsuda, as she is waiting for the train to head to the suspected location of the ghost station, Kisaragi Station. On the right is a collage of 3 images and/or landmarks that are relative to Risa Matsuda’s investigation of Kisaragi Station. The game’s logo is inspired by the actual Japanese station signs to design a train station sign for Kisaragi Station.
